Tanner Pflueger is Billy Elliot

Tanner Pflueger, a 13 year old from Nebraska, will be playing the role of Billy Elliot in the London Production of Billy Elliot the Musical this autumn. Prior to earning the role of Billy Elliot, Tanner earned recognition in a wide range of dance competitions in the United States.

Most recently he won the Junior Age Division, Contemporary Dance Category at the 2008 Youth American Grand Prix Semi-Finals in Irving Texas. Additional awards include: the 2007 Youth American Grand Prix, Top 12 Pre-competitive Age Division; The 2007 Showbiz Omaha Nebraska Line Division, 1st place (With the Nebraska Dance Team); Junior Solo American League Top 8 at the 2007 Hall of Fame Dance Challenge;2007 West Coast Dance Explosion Junior Elite Dancer; 2004 Showstopper Mini (8&Under) Gold (With Mckenna Maumeert); and the 2003 Omaha Show Wagon Finals, Tiny Tots, 1st Place.[list=][/list]

Tanner performed his second show tonight; and did a superb job, given that he had to mount the stage suddenly because Tom ( who was the replacement for Fox, originally rostered for tonight) hurt his knee jumping off the piano in Born to Boogie. They gave Tanner 15 minutes to prepare, come up to speed, and he was on- finishing the first half, and completing the second brilliantly like a true professional. Even in 24 hours, his confidence seemed to have grown. To me that's a demanding test- to be thrown on so quickly; the night after his debut show for which he was no doubt amply prepared. Well done Tanner.

Hey ..... im all new to this soo i dont really know what im doing but i just thought i would say i went to go see billt elliot a cuople of days before Christmas and i had Tanner Pflueger ! You where amzing i was write near the front row and a could see all your faceial expressions your not only an amazing dancer but a brill actor !!

Thanks BW - finally got the chance to watch the clip. That's the first time I have seen tanner perform anything so what a surprise. Great young talent there. I was a bit shocked at his size - sorta half way between Tom and Layton.

Does anyone know when Tanner will next be performing? I have heard that he is a lot like Liam (my all time favourite) so would like to see him perform as soon as possible?

Tanner is fabulous He's a surly, concious billy, who comes out of his shell throughout the show...especially in Express. It contrast sooo much with his " teenage, more reserved billy " Not reserved as in quiet and stuff, but more held back and resistant if you get what i mean Lol...serious, that's the word i've been looking for. This makes it extra effective as this dance is just soo mental and care free. And his electricity, you have to see it to believe it One word...stunning

I've seen Tanner twice recently, in February to be precise. I have to say, the first time was good, but the second time was something special. Tanner was on fire as were all the cast that night. It ranks in my list of the best performances I have seen.

I also saw Tanner yesterday for the seventh time.His performance at his debut last September was the most confident and assured I have ever seen on a first night,quite amazing for a boy thousands of miles from home.Yeterday he was the supreme professional portraying a rather moody teenage Billy in a most convincing manner.
He is not a smiler but why should he be when it is not consistent with his interpretation.A smile did break through during the applause after a wonderful ballet Electricity and he duly let his hair down during Express,with the admirable Lewis, and the Finale.
Anyone who has the chance to see Tanner should seize it and I certainly look forward to the next time,he will never disappoint.
