Giuseppe Bausilio is Billy Elliot

Giuseppe Bausilio, age 12, is from Bern, Switzerland. Guiseppe won a scholarship at the YAGP Finals in New York City at the age of 11, also earning a Bronze medal in the pre-competitive age group. In 2008 he placed second in the Ravenna, Italy Semi-Finals in the YAGP for the precompetitive age group. He has also been recognized at a number of other competitions which are listed at the bottom of this post. Giuseppe attended AS Ballet Schule in Boll Switzerland and has participated in the NYC Young Dancer Summer Intensive. In 2009 he participated in a summer program at ABT and the "Billy Elliot Broadway Summer Camp." His parents are also dancers, and he has been dancing since the age of 4.

Does anyone speak German? Here's a report about Giuseppe from a Swiss news program.. This is more TV coverage than I've seen from any US source yet!

Does anyone speak German?

Well... I am German but they speak Swiss German, which is very different form "high German" and hard to understand if you are not used to it. It actually took me a moment to realize that it is really German.

From what I got:
They said that Guiseppe was tired from jetlag but overjoyed . He himself said that it is a big step for him but that he will give it his best.
Guiseppe was the talk of the day in his father's (?) danceschool. He was welcomed back enthusiastically by the other students. The girl said that it is crazy that he is suddenly a Broadway star. The boys thought that it is good and that Guiseppe will do a good job.
The mother is ovejoyed and can't believe that her son hit the jackpot. She also said that it was a great experience. (She is the easiest to understand) The father said that in this carreer he has to seize the chance. He is also very proud.
They also mentioned that he trained 4 hours a day.

But I hope this helps. I might listen to it again later to fill in some gaps.

Looks like it's coming along. Remember it's very early on in the rehearsal process. As was previously noted, the acro stuff needs work as does just the smoothness of the whole dance. You can see, though, that Giuseppe has the above average ballet skills. He's going to be a good one
