I agree about Kiril's singing, and I think the same is true of David. I sat beside Mrs. Alvarez on Friday June 19th, 3rd row center. I didn't know where to look, at David onstage or at her. I can only try to imagine the feelings of a parent watching their child perform in such a dazzling manner. Watching David do Electricity while sitting beside his mother in the 3rd row center of the orchestra has to be right near the top of my list of memorable theater-going experiences. She told me that the music has been lowered for both David and Kiril and that David was going to try to stay with the show until Nov/Dec. I really wish they would lower The Letter as well. Although Kiril and David are hitting the notes and on tune, and sizewise they still look OK on stage, those high notes just don't sound quite natural coming from 15 year old boys. Also saw Tommy this trip. He's a very different Billy and I liked him very much.
If you read this, Gerideth, I have seen David A, Kiril and Tommy play Billy. Should I make the effort to see Trent? I mean of course I'd like to, but is his Billy different or better in any ways that you can specify to make me go back just for him? Is it possible for you to rate all four Billys as to acting, singing, dancing and as to which boy's performance you prefer overall? I will tell you one thing. The scene at the end where Billy plays the trick on his family and lets them think he flopped at the audition only made sense with Tommy. Tommy played Billy with an impish sense of humor that made me feel he just couldn't resist playing a final joke. With Kiril, David and Travis in London, I didn't get that it was funny. With Tommy I did. What do you think?
